Terms and Conditions

The name "News Radio International" used here also refers to all of its parent, subsidiary and associated businesses, as well as its directors and personnel.

ALL MATERIAL IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND WITHOUT ANY EXPRESS OR IMPLIED WARRANTIES.

UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES WILL NEWS RADIO INTERNATIONAL OR ANY OF ITS PARENTS, SUBSIDIARIES, DIRECTORS, PERSONNEL OR ASSOCIATED BUSINESSES BE LIABLE FOR ANY DAMAGES, INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING AS A RESULT OF ITS SERVICES OR ACTIONS.

News Radio International does not guarantee the accuracy of any material contained in its audio or text and is not responsible or liable under any circumstances for consequences of inaccuracies, omissions or defects.

News Radio International is not liable under any circumstances for any loss or damage resulting from dealings with or by advertisers, sponsors or third parties.

News Radio International does not endorse any advertiser, organization, product or service featured on the website or audio channel. Information contained in advertisements and sponsorship messages is provided by the advertiser and does not represent opinions or advice from News Radio International.

News Radio International's text and audio services contain copyrighted material which is protected by law and provided for personal use only. Material may not be otherwise exploited except in accordance with the law.

News Radio International complies with the specific laws which apply to news reporting and will take action against any party which violates its copyright.

Accessing the News Radio International website and audio feeds implies consent to all Terms and Conditions described here. If you do not agree with them, do not use the service.

News Radio International complies fully with international copyright laws, including those pertaining to music copyright.

News Radio International owns appropriate international rights to all music incorporated in its output - including public performance rights. This includes all jingles and incidental music included in advertising and promotions.

It is our policy to not broadcast ANY material subject to control by any performing rights organisation, including Sound Exchange, SESAC, MCPS, PRS etc.

News material may be obtained from a variety of sources, including staff and freelance reporters, agency newswires and material which is public domain or considered "fair use" (or fair dealing). We will not knowingly distribute or publish any material which breaks the law. If you discover a potential breach of copyright, privacy, decency, other legal issue, error or inaccuracy in any of our services, please bring it to our attention immediately so we can investigate and remedy it if necessary.

Privacy Policy

We respect the privacy of all listeners, clients and contributors.

We will never sell client information for the purpose of marketing or otherwise.

Any client information retained by us is solely for the purpose of continuing our business relationship. We may occasionally contact potential clients with offers for our own services, businesses may opt-out of this at any time by emailing us.

Listener and contributor details will never be sold, and would only be released to a third party in order to uphold the law.

We do NOT accept advertisements related to:

  • gambling (other than state-run lotteries)

  • pornography (in any form)

  • political propaganda

  • illegal activity

  • very high APR loans

  • hard liquor (restrictions may apply to other alcohol products)

  • pyramid schemes

  • unproven or unlicensed medical treatments or products

  • guns and weapons

  • sale of animals/livestock

We do NOT accept advertisements which are:

  • racist

  • socially inflammatory

  • promoting religion

  • unsuitable for children

  • in bad taste (e.g. no swearing/sex scenes etc, be especially careful if using humor)

  • offensive to minorities

  • of poor standard (e.g. dodgy/naff commercials)

We do NOT accept advertisements for websites which:

  • promote unproven or unlicensed medical treatments or products

  • incite hatred or violence of any kind

  • promote illegal or anti-social behaviour

  • contain references to pornography or gambling

 

Our acceptance of advertising does not imply our endorsement or approval of the product service or advertiser.

We will not discriminate on the basis of race or ethnicity, but we do reserve the right to refuse an advertisement for any product or service which we consider could be illegal, immoral, unduly controversial, dishonest, inappropriate, distressing etc.

We will only consider advertisements for medical, financial or investment products if the client provides appropriate and complete legal clearance from the appropriate statutory bodies and undertakes to cover our legal fees in approving such advertisements.. 

Commercials should be in English.

Charities can only advertise if they are properly registered.

Commercials must not infringe copyright, including music copyright.
The client must provide evidence of full international rights to any music used. 

The sale of products or services advertised must be legal in the territories they are sold to and from.

If using children to act in advertisements, please be aware that certain countries have restrictions.

Commercials must meet professional technical and performance standards, we reserve the right to refuse bad quality audio.

Some types of commercial may take us longer to approve than others, for example if we need to run a script past a lawyer or clearance organisation (e.g. to comply with consumer credit regulations).

 

Additional production charges will apply if a client changes either the brief after we've written a script or changes the script after we've recorded the commercial (and incurred costs).

Production fees cover usage on News Radio International only, additional copyright/licensing fees may apply for usage on other stations.

We reserve the right to decline or remove commercials for any reason, at our sole discretion, including in response to serious news events.

It is the advertisers responsibility to ensure commercials are factually correct and legal prior to transmission.

Payment for all services must be made in advance, ideally via Paypal (including credit cards).

Refunds are made at News Radio International's sole discretion and must be requested prior to transmission. We reserve the right to charge reasonable cancelation fees if a campaign is withdrawn by the advertiser. No refunds are possible after transmission.

Transactions and dealings shall be governed by the laws of England and Wales and subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.

Our liability in the event of a technical or human error is limited to the value of the advertising.

Advertising and Production rates are subject to change without notice and exclude tax and duties.
